Grant Awards by Year
Firelight awarded 23 multi-year grants in 2005, which disbursed funds
over two or three years. Multi-year grants offer successful organizations
the stability necessary to build their organization and expand their services.
For example, Lesotho Save the Children was awarded a total of $30,000
in 2005, $15,000 to be paid in 2005 and $15,000 in 2006.
All grants awarded during 2005 are listed below. Some grantees were awarded
more than one grant during 2005 and are therefore listed more than once.
Grants that were partially or fully funded by the Firelight’s Donor
Advised Fund at the Tides Foundation are marked with an asterisk (*).
