Our Team
Debra L. Evans
Debra L. Evans, Board Secretary, is a certified childbirth educator,
lactation consultant, and professional author with 21 books and
numerous articles published to date.
Following her retirement after more than 20 years of experience,
Debra has held numerous board positions and offices in state and
local health and women's organizations. This includes State Director,
International Childbirth Education Association; Consultant, Michigan
Department of Health Perinatal Education Task Force; President,
Atlanta Bethany Christian Services; Chair, Texas Department of Health
Midwifery Board; and Director, Austin PanAmerican Round Table.
Debra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Reproductive Health and
Family Wellness from the University of Nebraska, where she taught
classes in Health Science and Human Sexuality for four years before
moving to Georgia. She has conducted extensive medical research
in women and children's health.
Debra is the sister of Kerry Olson, President and co-founder of
the Firelight Foundation. Debra's interests include practice of
the classic Christian spiritual disciplines, music, reading, and
spending time with her family. She resides in Austin, Texas.
