Local is Global is a Success!

We wrapped up our Local is Global campaign on Monday, May 25 with great success. Local is Global was a student-led fundraiser for Africa’s grassroots. We worked with students and local community members to raise awareness about issues that community organizations in Africa are addressing. The idea behind this campaign was that people everywhere can play a role in creating global change.
After a full weekend of tabling on the UCSC campus and downtown Santa Cruz and a great fundraiser at Woodstock’s Pizza, we felt more connected with our local community and excited about our impact in sub-Saharan Africa. Ultimately we raised $649.20 and reached hundreds of people.
