How Firelight makes a difference for community-based organizations and children in eastern and southern Africa

Impact Report FY23 (July 1, 2022-June 30, 2023)

A year of deepening and expanding our support for communities effecting systems change for their children and youth and sharing our learnings in regional and global conversations.

A new grantee-cluster in Kenya, a grant from MacKenzie Scott and continuing our support for community-driven systems change in for young children, adolescent girls and young people generally.

As COVID-19 continues to take a toll, read how Firelight and our grantee-partners are responding and meeting the needs of their communities. FY21 also saw us expanding our Board, our grantee-clusters and our learnings in critical areas such as early childhood, child and youth rights and community-driven systems change.

Impact Report FY19 (2018-2019)

In fiscal year 2019 (July 2018 to June 2019), Firelight’s 52 CBO grantee-partners in 7 geographic clusters in 5 countries directly and indirectly improved the lives of over 158,000 children, parents and caregivers, and community members. In this report, we share critical evidence that community-based organizations have a direct, systemic, and lasting impact when they are supported to work with their own communities to improve children's lives and the systems in which they all live, in the ways that they know best.

Impact Report FY18 (2018)

In fiscal year 2018 (July 2017 to June 2018), Firelight’s CBO grantee-partners directly impacted over 130,000 children, youth, parents, caregivers, professionals, and community members. In this report, we share highlights of the impact achieved in fiscal year 2018.
