We are pleased to welcome two new members to Firelight’s Board of Directors.

Caroline Njuki (right) brings close to two decades of experience in employment and skills, migration governance, forced displacement, and human security across East Africa and the Horn of Africa. She currently  serves as Regional Chief Technical Advisor at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Kenya. She has also worked at IGAD in Djibouti and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Somalia.

Atieno Odhiambo (left) is a dedicated advocate for human rights, democracy, and governance, with a strong commitment to championing access to justice for all. She directs the Legal Empowerment Fund at The Fund for Global Human Rights. She has led initiatives across Africa, offering legal support to states and civil society, and has also contributed her expertise to organizations in the United States.

We at Firelight appreciate Caroline and Atieno’s expertise and perspectives and look forward to working with them in the coming months and years.

We also extend our deep gratitude to two great leaders who have just finished their terms as Firelight board members.

Ambassador Jimmy Kolker, who joined our board in 2017, lent Firelight his deep experience in global health and, among many his contributions, helped ensure continuity and stability during a pivotal period.

Dr. Joyce Malombé, who joined in 2019, gave us valuable strategic and programmatic insights rooted in her passion for early childhood learning and community-led change as well as her experience in international education and philanthropy.

We thank Jimmy and Joyce for their exceptional service. Their impact will continue well beyond their time on the board.
