Youth resiliency and belonging

Firelight Foundation believes that lasting change comes when communities have agency to address the issues that affect them.
What we do

In Kenya, many young people struggle to enter the world of work. This takes a toll on their self-esteem and is made worse by poverty and risky behavior, leading to substance abuse, pregnancy and more. Firelight’s partners engage young people in civic activities and train them for jobs or to start their own businesses. As a result, many youth have concrete options for the future – and a renewed sense of belonging and purpose.
