Firelight welcomes Oscar Kadenge as Director of Programs and Learning

With more than 20 years of systems strengthening experience across the Global South, Oscar brings extensive expertise in early childhood development, education, global health, research, and policy development.

Oscar has held prominent leadership positions in several nongovernmental organisations, multilateral agencies and research institutions, including UNICEF, PATH, WorldVision, Genesis Analytics, and SOS Children’s Villages. Most recently, he served as Director of Programs at Parenting for Lifelong Health and he currently chairs the Board of the ECD Network for Kenya.

“We’re delighted to welcome Oscar to Firelight,” said Marième Daff, Executive Director of the foundation.“His experience in leading effective program teams and working closely with local leadership will be vital as we work to achieve lasting systems change for children.”

Oscar took up his position earlier this month. “I am honoured to join Firelight Foundation as Director of Programs and Learning,” he said. “It is a privilege to be part of a team dedicated to providing the necessary resources, trust and support for communities to mobilise local knowledge and lived experiences to identify the root causes of their challenges and create their own change.”
