Ronald is a seasoned program management, learning, and evaluation leader with over 18 years of experience driving social development initiatives across eastern and southern Africa. In his current role, he collaborates with Firelight colleagues, consultants, grantee partners and funders to design and implement initiatives for each of our strategic objectives, enabling us to overcome inequities in learning outcomes, protection, and poverty faced by children and youth in eastern and southern Africa.
Ronald leads efforts to support community-based organization (CBO) grantee-partners in achieving smart, sustainable, and scalable community-driven systems change (CDSC). This approach prioritizes the leadership and insight of community members themselves, ensuring that lasting transformation addresses the root causes of the critical issues they face.
Prior to joining Firelight, Ronald served as a manager of projects at Aga Khan University in East Africa. He also held leadership roles at AMREF Health Africa in Tanzania and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. He holds degrees from Mzumbe University in Tanzania and Jimma University in Ethiopia.
