As Interim Operations Officer, Spings Akumah oversees the global operations function that supports both the collective and individual operational needs of Firelight. His portfolio includes procurement, equipment and supplies, IT and tech support, travel coordination, safety and security, human resources administration, and operational knowledge management.

Spings is a seasoned Finance and Operations professional with over 10 years of experience driving financial integrity and operational efficiency across the non-profit and education sectors. Prior to joining Firelight, he served as Finance and Admin Manager at the International Education Funders Group (IEFG), where he provided strategic financial leadership for a global network of over 100 education funders, led administration, HR operations, and recruitment. Before IEFG, Spings was an Accountant at PAL Network and Zizi Afrique Foundation, where he managed multi-country financial reporting and donor grants, strengthened expertise in financial systems and operational frameworks, and supported operational capacity-building initiatives.

Spings is a Certified Public Accountant and an Alumnus of the YALI Regional Leadership Center. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Global Banking & Finance at the United States International University Africa.
